New Body Electric was originally formed in Salt Lake City, Utah, when Seattle rapper Common Market needed an opener for a show in 2012. The 4-piece group created a set to open for the show in a months time, based on songs written by singer Aaron Peterson. Fast forward to 2017; the band has been in hibernation for years as its members scattered across the country…until now. Singer/Songwriter/Producer Aaron Peterson (vocals/guitar/synths/trumpet) has linked up with fellow Portland rocker Evan Smoker (guitar/bass/drums), resurrecting the band’s name and electropop sound. The result is funky bass lines and dance rhythms abound.
