Freedust was formed in London when Daniele Carmosino met singers Lisa Widmark and Sarina Mantle in an antiques music equipment store nearly 2 years ago. The trio soon realised that they had more in common than just a love of wind-up gramophones and began creating music in Daniele’s home studio. Taking their initial inspiration from Swing music of the 1930s and 40s, they then filtered those influences through old samplers and electronics to create a timeless yet contemporary sound.
Freedust takes you on a journey through bouncy beats, scratched horn sections and whimsical electronics - all sprinkled with some delicious vocal melodies that are undeniably catchy. This is certainly a new and playful approach to female-fronted experimental pop.
