LA via Twin Cities producer/composer/pianist Joey Kantor is a veteran of writing music for story, and he's viciously good at it. Flecks of Gershwin on the palette provide important historic tethers, while tunes like "Ingenue" open up and swing rapturously. Cinematic strings and tympani give a sultry, dynamic breadth to Kantor's classic, fluid approach. Atmosphere and textures of warm, fuzzy electronica stitch in a gauzy weave.
